Good times

Way back in the year 2000, we had the pleasure of traveling to the rural town of Hohenwald, TN. What a wonderful place to visit! Such friendly teachers, staff, and charming students! I still have wonderful memories from those early visits - the least of which is a child dragging the word "cat" out into four syllables (only in the South can we pull that off). We trained a wonderful assistance by the name of Teresa Clayburn, who turned out to be soooo great at Beacon that we made her our Instructor of the year in 2008. And she's still going strong. Lewis County has served over 350 students with the Beacon program, with an average increase of 1.4 grade levels. What is even better about this score is that MOST of the students were in the first grade and received only around 20 sessions! Absolutely incredible progress, and we couldn't be more pleased. So, just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Lewis County Elementary, to Mrs. Clayburn for her dedication, to former principal Mrs. Henson for letting us in with such welcome and wonderful collaboration. We are looking forward to working with Lewis County for years to come.
